CEOs are spending time reconnecting with their children at home, meanwhile, investors are opening up their laptops at their kitchen tables and policymakers are facing hard choices.
Thus sustainability professionals will need to adapt too.
If BlackRock CEO Larry Fink is correct in predicting that capital will increasingly be allocated to those companies with the most sustainable business models, then companies will need to communicate VERY differently.
For sustainability people, it will be important to make sure that their messages are heard by the capital markets, by their CEO, CFO’s, investors and stakeholders at large.
The truth is that these people read financial statements, investor briefings – not sustainability reports. So they will need new sources of data, that prove the benefits of shifting their business models to address economic opportunity, and stakeholder well-being.
Now more than ever.
